How much coverage do we need?
Planning a wedding can be one of the most exciting times of your life, but as the big day approaches, it is natural to start feeling a little stressed or anxious.
Our philosophy is to make you feel as comfortable as possible. While some people may like the spotlight, for the more camera-shy folk we find it helpful to brief you on the different moments that can be captured; or those you may choose to keep private and undocumented. From the natural ‘getting ready’ photos to the structured post-ceremony photo shoot, through to the reception happy snaps, every wedding and couple is unique. We allow you to select which moments of your wedding you want to document and how many hours you want to invest in.
Below is a rough timeline for you and your partner to consider and have a better idea of how a standard wedding day could look.
Getting Ready (Time 1-2hrs)
For some brides and grooms, this is a vital part of the day and a shoot where some of the most special memories are made. These photographs capture the energy of the wedding morning. Getting your hair and makeup done together for the bride and her bridesmaids and suiting up, having a drink and relaxing for the groom and his groomsmen.
The aim is for you to forget we are there so that the shots are candid and the nerves, the excitement, the laughter and most importantly the closeness between the people that mean the most to you are captured in their natural state.
Ceremony (25 mins-1hr)
This part is pretty straight forward, but depending on the length of the ceremony and whether it will be religious or civil, the times can fluctuate. It’s good to always leave a little extra time in case your officiant is running late or any last minute hiccups occur.
Post-Ceremony Shoot (1-1.5 hrs)
This is when most of the action happens! Here we shoot family portraits, formal bridesmaids & groomsmen formations, as well as candid images of the bridal party. At this point of the day, after all the formal group images are taken, the bride and groom are taken away for some alone time. This is the moment to savour; when you are just married and we capture those stunning couple shots and the essence of your love and commitment to each other.
The reception can be covered for 1 to 5 hours. All that matters is what is most important for you. This may include cutting the cake, the father-daughter dance or images of guests dancing and having fun.
Each wedding is unique so it is important to pinpoint all the factors that could affect time to avoid running behind on the day. We are more than happy to answer any questions or concerns you might have. If anything doesn’t go to plan, we try our best to ensure smooth running on our behalf and encourage you to go with the flow and embrace the moment.
Other factors that might influence the time limit you need for your photography
How many people are in your wedding party?
How many people/families and formations do you want to be photographed formally?
How many locations will be required for photos?
(i.e. is the ceremony at the church or reception site?)
Do you need to allocate time for driving? (i.e. ceremony site to reception site)
